Seeking Volunteers for District Festival

Dear Westfield Band Parents and Students,

Thank you for the many generous responses to my previous request for volunteers!

While the majority of our volunteer needs have been met, we are in critical need of student volunteers on Saturday.  We also need a few more students on Thursday, especially right after school. I thank the many student leaders from the Wind Symphony who have volunteered to help, but now it’s time for the underclassman in Concert and Symphonic bands to step up because the Wind Symphony students are busy performing on Saturday.

We also need some additional adult volunteers.  Some specific needs are:

  • Adults to support the judges - Thursday afternoon after school and Friday after school until end
  • Adults to help move the bands from area to area smoothly and on time (storage room, warm-up, performance, sight reading) - Thursday after school to end and Saturday 2 to 10pm
  • Transportation for one of the judges from and to REAGAN airport to Hampton Inn on Rt. 50.   Flight arrives Thursday at 7:56am and departs Sunday at 8:05am
  • Does anyone have, or can loan, traffic cones?

Please do not volunteer during your performance:

  • Concert Band, Thursday, March 11, 6:20pm (students report at 5:15 and finish at around 7:30)
  • Symphonic Band, Friday, March 12, 7:40pm (students report at 6:35 and finish at around 8:50)
  • Wind Symphony, Saturday, March 13, 4:20pm (student report at 3:15 and finish at around 5:30)
