GMU Drumline and Colorguard Clinic
July 30 - August 1 Application deadline July 11, 2 008
Who can participate?
The clinic is open to rising 9th graders and above. We chose the dates in hopes of getting students excited about their upcoming marching band seasons, and carrying that enthusiasm into their respective band camps. Consider the benefits of having all of your incoming rookies participate in rigorous and focused instruction before their first season even begins!
But we are not limiting this experience to high school students! I have had many inquiries from educators, and college-aged students who are looking to expand their knowledge to aid in their own teaching, and other members of the community looking to try something new, or continue in an activity that they have at some point fallen in love with and want back in their lives.
As part of the Drumline and Colorguard Clinic, we will be taking busses to the Drum Corps in Fauquier show in Warrenton, Virginia. This is a wonderful opportunity to ignite enthusiasm by witnessing some of the most exciting and skilled performers in the marching arts activity.
For more information about Drum Corps in Fauquier, please visit their web site.
I hope that you will encourage your students to participate! Please help spread the word!
