The
Westfield High School Percussion Ensemble announces its fifth Benefit Concert,
January 8th, 2007, 7:00 PM, Westfield High School Auditorium, with Special
Guests Westfield Jazz.
“This year's concert has a special purpose,’ says John Kilkenny, Percussion
Program Coordinator for Westfield High School. We will be performing at the 2007
Bands of America National Percussion Festival March 14-28 2007, and need to
raise the necessary funds to get the students to Indianapolis, Indiana in March.
Over 20 percussion ensembles from across the country applied for this year's
National Percussion Festival eight were selected. This opportunity is a great
honor for the entire music program, and indeed, all of Westfield High School. As
part of the Festival, students will attend performances, clinics and master
classes with an all-star roster of internationally renowned artists and
educators, as well as performing in an excellent venue for an attentive and
knowledgeable audience.
We need your help to get there! Join us on January 8 for an amazing
evening of music featuring all 38 members of the Westfield Percussion Ensemble
with Special Guests, Westfield Jazz! Admission is just $10 for Adults and $6 for
Students and seniors.
The Bands of American National Concert Band and Percussion Festival (www.bands.org)
