"Where the Big Dogs Play"
Band Director's Invitation
Dear Parents and students:
As strange as it may seem, band camp will soon be upon us and we will be in full swing preparing for our version of THE MASK OF ZORRO. There is so much to do and it is up to each and every one of you to do your part to insure a successful year. Stay informed through the web site. Please try and put all dates on a master calendar at home. Make sure you have your instrument ready to go. Please contact Mrs. Carpenter if you are in need of a school owned instrument. Read why you should take private lessons. Try and line upĀ private lessons for the summer and school. Contact me or your section leader if you have any questions.
Please look for your registration packet via the web site.
The Westfield Band program is a nationally recognized program that offers students of all ability levels an opportunity to learn, live, and love music. The Westfield Band comprises eight performance groups including the Wind Symphony, the Symphonic Band, the Concert Band, Jazz I, Jazz II, the Percussion Ensemble, the Colorguard, and Marching Bulldogs. Each of these groups has gained local, state, and national recognition in the short time Westfield has been open.
Colleges today are looking for well rounded students involved in their school and community as well disciplined and works as a team. This is what the Westfield Band has to offer. Band at Westfield is unlike anything you have ever done in your life. I am looking forward to a great year in band at Westfield. Many exciting concerts, projects, and performances are in the works. We are glad you are part of our musical family!!
Being in band prepared me for the rest of my life.
It can do the same for you.
Sincerely,
Steve Panoff
Band Director, Westfield High School
