Announcements

Welcome to another exciting year of band! Summer letters have gone out, and we are ready to kick off the new year! Registration forms are posted on the Documents/Registration tab. Click on the tab to access both sets of forms.

All band members and parents, join us Sunday, August 6 at 6 PM in the auditorium for the registration kick off meeting. It’s your chance to visit friends, hear from the Director, turn in your forms and fees, and sign your instrument rental contract. Marching band camp kicks off Monday August 7 at 8 AM for Rookies (new marchers to Westfield Marching Band), Leadership, Drums, and Guard. All returning veteran marchers report for 1 PM practice.

Things to bring/wear to camp:

  • Instrument and all accessories (of course)
  • Pencil (for camp)
  • Athletic shoes (and socks) for rehearsals
  • Wear a white t-shirt/white W t-shirt
  • Practice attire…students must practice in shorts or sweats. No jeans allowed for rehearsals.
  • Water jug (32 oz or more recommended) – we don’t want you getting dehydrated
  • Hat
  • Sunscreen
  • The Westfield High School Band spirit wear shop is now open! Shop Online Now at – the online shop is only available until August 13, 2017 so place your order now. Anticipated delivery is the week of September 11. Exact date/time will be announced near delivery time. Make sure to check the sizing guide. All orders are final because of the embroidery/personalization.

The Westfield Band Program is a success not only because of the strength and talents of our students and directors, but also because of volunteer efforts from our parents. Parents, please check out the Calendar (click on the Charms Calendar link in the yellow bar above). On the days we need volunteers, there is a little multi-colored hand. Click on the hand to open the sign up page. We especially need volunteers for Sunday August 6 to help with registration night and every day at band camp to manage the med bag. Being the med bag parent is easy – be there to take care of any first aid/medical issues that occur so that the directors don’t have to stop practice.

Thank you everyone! We look forward to another successful band year!
